The current owner bought it from one of the original caretakers in 2015 and got to work restoring the drivetrain.
In Fall 2015 it had an extensive mechanical overhaul having both the 235 cu.

I-6 and automatic transmission rebuilt.
Over the next two years, the car was steadily restored.
The goal was to preserve originality where possible.
It began with the steering column and components followed by the wiring harness and instrument cluster.
Each completed project made them more excited to continue.
Shortly after, they replaced the ball joints, breaks and brake lines.
Next were the wheels and tires, complete with hubcaps and beauty rings.
The body was taken off and the frame was restored.
A radio with cassette deck and remote are mounted in the glovebox.
The body mounts were replaced too, and today you have a smoothly running Bel Air.
The interior is clean, comfortable and true to the period.
In 2017 the headliner was restored.
This four-door variant is sure to please where friends can join in the run to a car show or a Sunday run for ice cream.
